Welcome to Yarnabah

Purveyor and maker of natural textiles and fiber products

Yarnabah is a play on the word 'yarn' and the name of one of our founders, Yanabah. Yanabah is Navajo for 'warrior princess' and is a name she wears proudly. We call her Yana for short.

Half Navajo. Half Norwegian. Yana was born in Santa Fe and immersed in the culture that defined her Native American ancestors.

Being an award-winning weaver, educator, and Navajo crafts advocate, her Navajo mother instilled strong beliefs toward old-style craftsmanship using traditional methods and materials. She won her first award for Navajo rug weaving before she was a teenager.

A Native American-owned family business. We proudly provide others who appreciate old-world crafts with top-quality, Native American weaving and textile products.

Product Portfolio

You love the way raw fiber feels in your hands. You love the fact that it came from hard-working Navajo farmers who take pride in maintaining a natural way of life.
Using your hands and simple tools, you embrace this connection to nature yourself as you weave and form your crafts.
